When it comes to skincare, understanding the ingredients in your products is just as essential as the results they deliver. Today, we're breaking down the components of our shea butter-based lotion to provide you with a deeper understanding of what you're applying to your skin.
Purified Water
The first ingredient listed, and the primary component of most lotions, is purified water. This serves as the base of the product, allowing other ingredients to blend seamlessly. It hydrates the skin, replenishing its natural moisture content.
Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil
Apricot kernel oil, derived from the seeds of apricots, is packed with fatty acids and vitamins A and E. This oil moisturizes the skin, reduces signs of aging, and helps to maintain skin's elasticity and suppleness.
Butyrospermum Parkii Seed (Shea) Butter
Shea butter is a skincare superstar. Extracted from the nuts of the African shea tree, it is celebrated for its moisturizing and soothing properties. Rich in vitamins A, E, and F, shea butter provides essential nutrients needed for collagen production, making it a great anti-aging ingredient.
Emulsifying Wax NF
Emulsifying Wax NF is a crucial ingredient used to combine water with oils. This ensures that our lotion has a smooth consistency for easy application.
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
Coconut oil, extracted from the meat of mature coconuts, is known for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. It's rich in lauric acid and contains natural antimicrobial properties, making it excellent for protecting and healing the skin.
Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate
This trio is an emulsifying system used to create a stable, creamy lotion. They help to keep oil and water from separating, ensuring that the texture of your lotion remains as indulgent as the first use.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Tocopherol, also known as Vitamin E, is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental stressors like pollution and UV damage. It also provides deep nourishment to the skin, promoting a healthy, youthful glow.
Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol
These are preservatives that keep your lotion safe and free from harmful bacteria. They ensure that your product lasts longer, maintaining its effectiveness and quality.
Potassium Sorbate
Potassium sorbate is a mild preservative commonly used in cosmetic products. It's responsible for keeping your lotion fresh and extending its shelf-life.
